Indonesia is known by the world as having very wide waters and one of the largest seafood producers in the world.

Various types of seafood, one of which is shrimp. Shrimp has a soft meat texture, and you can enjoy prawns according to your taste because they are easy to process.

Well, here are the types of shrimp that are very popular in Indonesia:

1. Jerbung Shrimp

 Shrimp jerbung can also be called white shrimp. If you go to the market, you will often find this one shrimp. This shrimp has a thin skin that is also slippery, the color is white and slightly yellow, Indonesia is a country with the largest jerbung shrimp producer in the world.

 

2. Peci Shrimp

This Peci Shrimp is not a shrimp that uses a cap, my friend, this shrimp is another variant of the jerbung shrimp. This shrimp is white but darker and has black spots.

This shrimp is usually cooked for sweet and sour or spicy, etc., but this shrimp is not suitable for grilling because the skin is thin, making it easy for the shrimp to burn quickly.


3. Giant Shrimp

This shrimp comes from fresh water, this shrimp can also be called cokong or fresh water prawn.

The color is a bit blue, the claws are long, and the head is big. This shrimp can be called somewhat similar to lobster but smaller in size. It is suitable if processed by burning because the skin is hard.

 

4. Pancet Shrimp

The name push shrimp does not mean that you eat it by pressing the button, this shrimp is also called tiger shrimp. The skin of this shrimp is thick and hard with a green / red color and there is a fairly dark transverse line. Very suitable for grilling, or other dishes as well.

 

5. Dogol Shrimp

 

Another nickname for this, is pink shrimp. The name is pink because the color is pink but there is a slightly yellow color too. The size of this shrimp is not too big, this shrimp is very suitable for frying using flour

 

6. Vennamei Shrimp

 


This shrimp belongs to the expensive shrimp group, this shrimp is very in demand in the market. The color of this shrimp is white and there is a slightly blue pattern. Suitable as a complement to any dish, fried, fried, soup, mixed with noodles, both fried and gravy, and other dishes as well.

 

7. Fan Shrimp

Have you ever thought of a question, "can this shrimp be used as a fan?" of course not. Another nickname for this shrimp is brush shrimp (but it doesn't look like a brush) it looks like a lobster but smaller in size, the skin has a hard texture but not as hard as a lobster. Suitable for sauce dishes such as prawns in Padang sauce, sweet and sour, etc.

 

8. Rebon shrimp

 

This shrimp has a very small size. This shrimp is only 2-3.5 cm in size. Usually this shrimp is processed for peanut brittle, botok or shrimp sauce and also made shrimp paste.

The production of delicious shrimp paste in Indonesia is one of them Cirebon, this terasi from Cirebon has been around since the royal era, wow that's great too!
