1. Vaname Shrimp Arrival in Indonesia
Vannamei shrimp or vannamei shrimp whose Latin name is Litopenaeus vannamei comes from the west coast of America, which is a subtropical area, which starts from the Gulf of California in Mexico in the north to the west coast of Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica in the Americas. Central to Peru in South America. And the Vaname Shrimp was finally officially allowed to enter Indonesia through the Decree of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia. No. 41/2001, where at that time tiger prawns in Indonesia were in decline since 1996 due to disease attacks and also a decrease in environmental quality in Indonesia. Then the government conducted a study on other types of sea shrimp commodities that could increase shrimp production apart from tiger prawns.
Indonesia, which is located on the equator, has a constant dry and rainy season, causing Indonesia to be able to produce shrimp throughout the year.
Litopenaeus vannamei is one of the main commodities in the aquaculture industry, because it has high economic value and high market demand. The KKP (Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries) which produces shrimp in this country, in 2013 could reach more than 600,000 tons, so that at that time, synergy from related parties was needed to realize the target. And in 2013 Indonesia achieved a projected national shrimp production of 608,000 tons.

2. Classification
Classification is the division or process of grouping something based on class, characteristics - similarities and differences. According to Haliman and Dian in 2006 the classification of Litopenaeus vannamei is as follows:
    • Kingdom : Animalia
    • Sub Kingdom : Metazoea
    • phylum : Arthropods
    • Subphylum : Crustaceans
    • Class : Malacostraca
    • Subclass : EomalaCrostaca
    • Superorder : Eucarida
    • Order : Decapodas
    • Suborder : Dendrobrachiata
    • family : Litopenaeus
    • Species : Litopenaeus vannamei

3. Morphology
Morphology is the form of the body structure of living things that can be seen from a physical point of view.

4. Life cycle
This shrimp cycle starts from the adult shrimp spawning until fertilization occurs. ± 17 hours later the eggs will hatch and become larvae or can be called Nauplius. At this stage, he will eat the egg yolk stored in his own body and then will moult. Moulting is where the process of changing the shell of shrimp called crustaceans occurs, then after that metamorphosis occurs into zoea. Zoea is the next stage of some larvae, in this part the digestive system of the larvae begins to form simple. After that Zoea will undergo a metamorphosis to become Myasis. Myasis is the third stage of vaname shrimp larvae, this is also the final stage for shrimp larvae. At this stage it looks like a shrimp but is small and eats algae as well as zooplankton. ± 3 - 4 days this stage will undergo metamorphosis into Post Larvae. This stage is the stage where the shrimp have the characteristics of adult shrimp. The process from the initial stage of Nauplius to Post Larva takes ± 12 days. And then after Post Larva next Jervenil stage.

5. Vaname Shrimp Live and Live
The place to live depends on the type of shrimp and also the life requirements of the stages in the life cycle. The preferred habitat for shrimp is on the seabed, which is a mixture of mud and sand.

6. Food
Vaname Shrimp belongs to the Omnivores and Scavenger (Carrion Eater) groups. The food can be small shrimp (crustaceans) and sea worms (Plychates)
