KKP Sakti Wahyu Trenggono has targeted Indonesia to become the world's largest producer of venom shrimp, with a total production of around 16 million tons per year. This target is realized by opening a shrimp pond covering an area of 200,000 hectares until 2024.
This year he revealed that currently the 5 countries with the largest shrimp production in the world are China, the second is Ecuador, Vietnam is the third, the fourth is followed by India, and the last is Indonesia.

“If we manage to build 200 hectares of shrimp ponds with two harvest cycles of 80 tons per hectare/year, then in one year the economic analysis can generate almost Rp. 1,200 trillion,” said Trenggono in his statement.
As a result, the construction of a pond with an area of 200 thousand hectares will be able to make Indonesia build a defense system whose aim is to protect Indonesia's maritime wealth.
Maritime wealth in Indonesia includes fish, pearls, seaweed and coral reefs.
The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries said, “If this is realized, imagine how much Indonesia's defense force can we build. It's not difficult if we want to strengthen our defense equipment."
